As we all know by now foreign investors were snapping up shares during the recent downturn.
Not that this had any effect on local speculators who kept dumping until the SCIC's famous announcement.
Now, while we do NOT know what SCIC is buying, we DO know what the foreign investors have been buying and selling.
Compiling the data over the past 3 weeks here are the top buys and sells by foreign investors during this period (with most of the serious buying during the last week).

The Number 1 Buy for 3 weeks running on big volume was DPM.
Number two buy was SSI, which seems like a high risk play to me.
Interesting to note that the BIG foreign sell during the past week was PPC. Coincidentally during this period local speculators were reportedly big buyers of PPC on speculation that this would be one of the stocks purchased by SCIC.
Who is right? Only time will tell.
But I can tell you this. I will take hard numbers over rumor and speculation any day of the week.
Usual pattern
Locals buy high sell low.
Local style
Most of locals seem to be short.
Viable strategy?
If only they would let you sell short...
